Adding a Tattoo

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

I know — like I need more!  I have briefly discussed doing a trade with one of our dance students who is a tattoo artist.  She needs a tribal bra and I want new ink.  Laura did the “13″ that is above my UNMATA widow and web.  Granted, the black has gotten really splotchy in that tiny bit of ink, but she did do a good job.  What I want to add is the string of music notes that go with the opening lines of the Gospel song “Sanctuary”.  Granted, the words won’t be there, but the notes should be done slightly fru-fru and start behind my left ear and follow my hairline around until  they curl over the top of my Hindu protection symbol that is on the back of my neck.  It would be indicative of the power and strength I find in the words, since I hear them often in my head since my buddy Brian made me a CD that had a contemporary version of it.  “Oh, Lord prepare me to be a sanctuary … kind and loyal … tried and true … And I’ll be brave when … this world scares me … and be a sanctuary for you.”
